In this project, each think tank group was assigned to create a prezi, which is a presentation similar to PowerPoint, and video that shows the effect of bullying and what can we do to prevent it from happening by using information we obtained from any 6 articles posted in the website called subtext. Aside from the prezi and video, each group also have to come up with one interactive activity that will help the audience to have a better understanding of the effect of bullying. My group chose to do an interactive activity that show the effect of ostracism, which is a form of bullying, by using a game similar to ice breaker but required post it notes to separate a small group of people from the rest. The most important part of this project is presentation because unlike any other projects, we have to present this project not only to our period, but also to the freshman and sophomore class.
This project was important because we were able to present it to the freshman and sophomore class, so we have to try our best to find a way to catch their attention and encourage them to apply what they learn into their everyday life. Even though it is not school wide project, but I believe that even the slightest change will eventually lead to a bigger result in the future.
After completed this project, I learned that the biggest problem with bullying is that it can be very hard to identify because there are many types of bullying and some can even appeared to be subtle, yet the effect of it is as severe. Also, another problem with bullying is that not everyone are willing to help stopping it simply because they view it as "other people's problem" and they do not want to get involve. I believe that if more people are willing to get involve when they witness bullying, then the problem will eventually be solve.
