Pie Charts, Histograms, and Rose Diagrams
This was another group project that we were assigned to do during the Festival of Learning. Each group had to draw a pie charts, histograms and rose diagrams to represent the results of the surveys taken by the formal AP students for that certain AP class. These graphs will assist AP teachers in explaining the amount of time and effort each student have to put into the class in order to receive a good grade. My group was assigned to AP Statistics class and after we calculated the result for each question, I was responsible for drawing the histogram and pie charts.
This assignment was significant because our project was actually used during the Festival of Learning as a part of the presentation for AP Statistics class to inform the parents about the difficulty of this class. The feedback we received from parents who attended the meeting were also fantastic because they were able to understand the results just by looking at the graphs.
Before doing this project, I did not know what rose diagram is or how it looks like but after finishing this project, I learned how to calculate and draw rose diagram that represent the categorical variables. I also learned the differences between each graph, as well as the main purpose of each one.
